A ball valve is a type of pipeline valve whose locking or control element is spherical. This is one of the modern and progressive types of shut-off valves, which is increasingly used for various operating conditions in pipelines transporting natural gas and oil, urban gas supply systems and other areas. It is also possible to use it as a control valve. Ball valves are controlled manually (on small diameters) and using a mechanized drive — electric, pneumatic and hydraulic. Advantages of ball valves:
simplicity of design;
high and reliable tightness;
small dimensions;
simple shape of the flow part and the absence of stagnant zones in it;
convenient control;
short time spent on turning;
applicability for viscous and contaminated media, suspensions, pulps and sludges.
Ball valve — a valve that has a spherical (ball) valve. The ball valve is used as a check valve in low-pressure devices and pipeline fittings. Established in 1989, ADLER Spa Ball Valves (Italy) is currently one of the main companies producing ball valves. Production is concentrated in new and modern premises in Santo Stefano Ticino on a total area of 12,500 square meters. Adler ball valves are TR certified. Ball valves are the most popular among the entire range of locking devices today. This type of equipment is capable of providing virtually zero hydraulic resistance in pipeline systems. The valve blocks the flow by reciprocating movement of the valve in the plane of the direction of movement of the working medium and perpendicular to the plane of the sealing surface (seat). Check ball valves are distinguished by their shock-free operation, self-locking of the ball grip in extreme positions, and the ability to withstand temperature stresses from pipelines and high pressure drops.
