Spot resistance welding is a high-performance method of joining parts, which has found application in many industries: from microelectronics to heavy engineering. The method is based on the melting of metal under conditions of high sedimentary pressure. Spot welding requires the use of a special apparatus.

Types of welding equipment

The equipment is available in portable and stationary versions. Inexpensive and compact wearable devices are used for field work, as well as for body repair. More productive stationary models are used in production. Powerful floor and suspended models allow you to weld metal up to 8 mm thick.

Another classification is based on the requirements for access to welded parts. The devices are divided into one-sided (spotters) and two-sided, usually made in the form of pliers, with the help of which workpieces are clamped.

When purchasing a welding machine, along with the price, take into account the operating voltage, maximum welding current, duration of continuous operation, range of thicknesses of workpieces being welded, control method (manual, microprocessor).
